From February 28th – March 2nd, our Motion Media department brought in the extremely talented designer for motion, Greg Herman of http://design.morechi.com/, for a 48 hour competition. We were randomly placed into teams of 3-4 designers who then had to execute a creative brief over the next 48 hours. The categories were divided into Commercial, Branding, and Main Title Design; the later is the one we were given.
Direction 01 is titled “The Countdown” as I aimed to capture the essence of the Driver’s reliance on exact timing and precision. Through the various environmental occurrences of numbers, the countdown to the Driver’s getaway is captured. These boards were designed entirely by myself.
Direction 02 is titled “Technical Dissection” in an attempt to capture the calculating precision of the Driver and how he knows the ins and outs of the cars he drives. This direction was designed by myself and Chelsea Jones. We wanted to keep it to a vector, vibrant nature to juxtapose the contrast of the gritty workings of a car.
